My Sunesis on the Mind

Philippians 4:6-7
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

How can I make my prayer earnest?
This requires the unadulterated involvement of the mind. There has to be a singular focus of the mind to the object or subject at hand until it touches the heart. Remember the mind is the gateway to the heart. By focusing the mind, our emotion is stirred and when mixed with faith produces result.

Our mind is vitally important in our devotion to God. Remember the bible states:

Deutronomy 6:5
"Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. My Strength?? ... But how can I love the lord my God with all my strength."

Thanks be to Jesus who later elaborated and enlightened this scripture

Matthew 22:37
Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' - Oh Oh! Jesus introduced a new term, the Mind. The mind must be involved. A complete focus on Jesus.

The bible taught us the way to find the Lord.

Jeremiah 29:13
13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart (Hebrew Lebab - which can stand for the Mind) - Again we can see that our mind is a faculty that was intended to be used for seeking God and not for thinking evil.

Finally, you want to know and stay in peace. Again,

Isaiah 26:3
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

If the mind is the door to the heart, where do you guard? The Mind of course. So in essence I can restate this, "Guard your mind with all diligence; For out of it is EVERYTHING.

2 Corinthians 10:5
We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
Quoting a great man of God, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome Ph.d -
"The exciting reality of the mind is that its content and processes can be managed. That is, reorganized and reprogrammed"

The ONLY potent instrument to effectively achieve this is still and remains the Word of God.

Our mind should not be allowed to just wonder. It is not okay. Don't say it's impossible. Just desire it for it is not by power nor might. It must be tamed and trained to focus on the right things (Phillipians 4:8) and to seek God. Spirit of the living God is here to help

This is a tasking but a very worthy and rewarding exercise -
